“Sweet Dreams” Sleeping Leopard

Bronze. 8’ long, 64” high. 500 lbs.

“Sweet Dreams” is one of the most dramatic break-ups of bronze skin surfaces that Jagger has done. This piece has a long history. Jagger welded the body of the leopard on a ‘section’ of a limb, then built a framework six feet high to support it. Although it attracted attention, many prospective customers told him the ‘frame’ supporting the animal was not appropriate, and that a tree section with a supporting limb would be much better. On his next trip home, he added the tree in bronze also, and because the presentation had been improved, 5 castings of this beast were made and sold. There is one in Düsseldorf, Germany; Birmingham, AL; Chicago, IL; Miami, FL; and Phoenix, AZ;

This is the original, hand-made Leopard, appraised at $270,000.
