“Mammoth” weighs 16,000 pounds and is 7 ft. high at the spine line. The tusks are white pearl granite and the tusk tips and random toenails are fashioned in bronze.
In a like manner as the Golden Morning CAT, Jagger welded the model of this Mammoth first in bronze, filled it with clay to change the openings into depressions, and enlarged his first model to 60 inches long. The professional granite carvers attacked his pachyderm with gusto, enlarging her to almost life size in the grey granite used for Golden Morning. The tusks are white pearl, and weigh 80 lbs a piece. Bronze accents were then applied by Jagger to the toenails and tusks after installation.
